My Way With You Manhwa: A New Romance To Fall In Love With
My Way With You Manhwa tells the story of a young girl named Shi Yoon who’s in need of money to pay off her family’s debt. The only way she can make that much money quickly is to sell herself as an escort, so she answers an ad and meets some men who have just the right amount of money to pay off her family’s debt if she agrees to be their date over the course of one month. Can you see where this is going?
My Way With You Manhwa The Story
Ji Hyeon Jae is an innocent, but a dedicated employee of the Daebaek Cosmetics company. She works day and night to please her boss to the best of her abilities. On a day like any other, she was heading home for a break and noticed a cafe called ‘The Back Alley’ across the street from her apartment building. Curiosity got the better of her and she decided to check it out on a whim. While eating there, she notices someone who looks vaguely familiar and goes over to say hello.
Turns out he’s the owner of this cafe, named Shin Joon Hyuk. He tells her that she reminds him of his ex-girlfriend and they end up talking about all sorts of things while getting to know each other. He suggests that they start off as friends since he doesn’t want his feelings to get in the way when they both just met each other. Eventually, they become closer and eventually end up falling in love with one another.
The Art
The great thing about My Way with You manhwa is that even if you don’t usually read this genre, it’s still easy to get swept up in the characters’ lives and enjoy the story for what it is. The plot may be a bit predictable at times, but it does a good job of giving readers someone to root for.
There are plenty of moments where you’ll laugh out loud or cry, which really gives this manhwa an emotional depth that I appreciated. It also feels like there is plenty left open-ended so that the author can explore more aspects of the world and her characters in future volumes. Overall, I’d recommend checking out My Way with You if you’re looking for a fun romance to fall in love with!
As far as art goes, while some people might find it lacking when compared to some other popular Korean manhwa today, I thought that Lee Soo Ho did a good job creating vibrant scenery through detailed shading.
Notable Characters My Way With You Manhwa
The first few chapters of My Way with You introduce us to the four main characters – Kang Sae-ro, Lee Dong-Wook, Cha Ji-Woong, and Shin Seung-ah. Sae-ro is a childhood friend of Dong-Wook’s who was secretly in love with him for a long time before confessing. Unlike most main female leads in romance manhwas, she is neither cold nor meek but instead happy and cheerful.
Her personality, combined with her naturally dark hair and slim figure, has made her very popular among readers. Ji-Woong is an intern at the company where Dong-wook works as an assistant manager.
They are great friends but do not seem to harbor any romantic feelings for each other (yet). Shin Seung-ah is a girl that used to be in charge of purchasing goods for the Dong-works department but quit after their boss sexually harassed her and he did nothing about it. She tries hard to find another job so that she can avoid running into Dong-Wook again, which becomes difficult because they work at the same company.
The Fanservice Factor
This manga has some of the best fanservice that I have seen in a very long time. Asuna is the perfect balance of adorable and sexy and Mako is so wonderfully sweet. The story progresses at a nice pace without being too slow and so far, nothing has been censored or deemed not appropriate for readers to view.
My only complaint about this series is that there are only six chapters available on VIZ Media’s website. That’s more than enough to make me hooked on it but with how quickly everything is going, I don’t know how much longer they will be updating!
Mako and Asuna are just the cutest couples together and their interactions feel real. They start off as just friends but soon become something more after realizing that they had romantic feelings for each other. There isn’t any drama between them either which made their relationship all the more heartwarming to read through!
The Romance Factor
In a school where students are constantly competing to one-up each other, Hyun Joon and Soo Yeon strive to find their place. Hyun Joon has always been at the top of his class in everything and seems completely disillusioned when it comes to education. However, he soon discovers that having a confidant outside of his circle is not as easy as he thought.
When Soo Yeon becomes his tutor, she too begins to feel discouraged by her classmates’ unyielding competitive nature. Will these two finally be able to let go of their pasts and share a future together? Read My Way with You Manhwa to find out!
1. Being tutored by an attractive classmate forces them both to look at their environment from another perspective
2. The progression of the relationship is paced very well and was satisfying for me personally
3. I liked how the author illustrated how self-imposed limitations can get in our way from fulfilling our potential
4. There are many small details throughout this manhwa that make it enjoyable and worth reading
